30. Shrek (2001) & Shrek 2 (2004)

A totally different and new take on all the traditional fairy tales, a princess locked in the tower waiting for her prince to come and save her. But in this story her Prince is a big ogre Shrek? The films are packed with funny jokes which everyone can relate to, and is aimed more at adults than children which pretty much started a new type of animated genre. Donkey voiced by Eddie Murphy really is just hilarious.

A Brilliant film about one of the best English football managers of all time, with Michael Sheen trying to fill the big shoes of the legend Brian Clough. The film tracks his very short days at Leeds United in what was a controversial move in the first place, as Clough hated Leeds when he was at Derby.
28. Up (2009)

An absolutely brilliant tale of an old man who eventually sets off on his adventure after years of planning on doing it. However, his house flying with balloon’s does not go exactly to plan when he has a surprise guest Russell on his house. This is such an emotional tale showing that you have to do the things you want to do or it might be too late when you eventually get round to doing them. Life is short and you have to really do everything you can to see and reach your dreams. So for an animated film which gave myself and friends some inside movie jokes it really does have such a heart, extremely sad in parts but also with some very heart warming moments.
27. Remember the Titans (2000)

A high school football team made up of both black and white players unites a town which had racism towards the schools being integrated. Denzel Washington is the head coach and helps the two sets of players become a team and everyone will remember the titans for the season they had. I love that the power of a sports team can unite people and after some work they can get past any problems when they realise that everyone on the team (and in the town) really wants the team to win.
26. Love Actually (2003)

A romantic comedy which will make you laugh, cry and feel good all at different parts of the story. Leading up to Christmas we see all different types of love for lots of couples and families in London. The characters all interlink in some shape or form. You could watch this film everyday and relate to a different character or storyline, you can relate to the different types of love that you have experienced and have a huge understanding with the character. For those reasons that is why I think this film is such an important one, it really does have everything.
25. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

What if you were in love with someone and it went bad? If you could erase them, would you? That is the main question this film gives us, do we really want to forget a relationship if it ends bad. Well we get taken along the road of a man who goes to get his ex-girlfriend erased from his brain but we can see the problems which occur with this. I wonder how many people watched this film and actually liked some bad relationship experiences they had because now they got it right. It really provokes thoughts which should not be missed, Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet are just incredible.
24. Enchanted (2007)

A Disney Princess is transported to the real world, none other than New York City and learns that life is not all about finding your Prince who finishes your love duet. Yes, it was about time we got more than the happily ever after story (yes, I realise how this film ends but you know what I mean). There’s singing, dancing and the fairy tale magic working its way around New York? I love the singing scene in Central Park its just brilliant. Amy Adams is so over the top and in your face you its fantastic, seeing typical cartoon Disney in real life does not fail to amuse.
23. Road to Perdition (2002)

Everything about this film is just wow, I am still haunted by Paul Newman’s “none of us will see heaven” moment as it was just amazing. The story of how a man reacts to his wife and one of his children being murdered by the people who were supposed to be like family to him.

I never actually fancied seeing this film when it first was released as it looked rather random, however when I eventually watched it last year I fell in love with it straight away. I obviously love random now and things that are very different and at times off the wall, as this can be described. The Beatles songs are put so cleverly in a story even if some of it looks predictable to which song is coming next I found it very clever and refreshing. Call me sentimental or a softie but I loved the ending, especially as I was waiting all the way through for that song.

Guy Ritchie at his very best in this extremely brilliant film, with Brad Pitt as a Pikey “Do ya like dags” “dags?” . . . “dogs” his accent was just amazing. With a lot more snappy dialogue throughout the film it really is a fantastic dark comedy. Unscrupulous boxing promoters, violent bookmakers, a Russian gangster, incompetent amateur robbers, and supposedly Jewish jewelers fight to track down a priceless stolen diamond
